Welcome!

Public spaces are a vital element of an outdoor built environment. Observations of how people behave and use the space say a lot about the strength of the spatial design and provide clues for further improvement. The analyzed spaces for this report, Aarey Bhaskar park located in Mumbai, India and Bell park and Twin Fork playground located in Sudbury, Canada were chosen on the basis of multiple factors, the key one being the local cultural context. The aim was to have a diversity of users (Caucasian, French, Italian, Indian, etc.) to provide a broader analysis of public space, understanding the social and the cultural dimensions within the respective spaces of study.
